I get this feeling that I don’t interpret the world the way my female friends do. I see the signs all over: from the way they ask me questions like “What are you wearing on Tuesday?” to the way they talk about events that I was certainly present for, but somehow missed like “I wonder what’s bothering Juan.” Juan’s bothered?

I admit it, I forgot. Actually, I didn’t even forget. I was reminded. I was cajoled. I had entire conversations about it, but somehow I just didn’t get the importance.

I forgot Stephanie’s birthday.

I have memorized the birthdays of five people in my life: my mom, my brother, my dog, myself, and, for some reason, my best friend from 6th grade (September 2nd).
