So, lately I’ve been crying a lot. The past year has been really hard on me. Long story short, my family pissed off some tribal gods or something sometime late last year. This unknown infraction resulted in the death of three close relatives in about nine months. The last one was this summer, so I’m doing a lot better …at least until I get to church. Then I cry like a freaking fire hose.

I admit it, I forgot. Actually, I didn’t even forget. I was reminded. I was cajoled. I had entire conversations about it, but somehow I just didn’t get the importance.

I forgot Stephanie’s birthday.

I have memorized the birthdays of five people in my life: my mom, my brother, my dog, myself, and, for some reason, my best friend from 6th grade (September 2nd).
